Horseshoe Bend of Colorado River at midday

This is a panorama of the Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River near Page in Arizone. It’s taken shortly after noon and I used a pole with a heigth of approx. 10 feet (3.15 m) to get a more elevated viewpoint.

View of Monument Valley near Cly Butte

As we were driving around the main road of Monument Valley we also stopped at the North Window between Cly Butte and Elephant Butte. I just took a little walk to the north east. Then I was standing just north of Cly Butte, so this is the most dominant mesa. The Artists Point is located directly underneath the sun. In the opposite direction of the sun you can see Elephant Butte.

Standing near South Window in Great Arches National Park

The North and the South Window are two arches in the Great Arches National Park. The are located in the Windows Section of the park. We were hiking on the Window Loop, when I took this panorama.

Upper Delicate Arch Viewpoint in Great Arches National Park.

The trail to the Upper Delicate Arch Viewpoint starts at the same parking lot as the trail to the Lower Viewpoint. But the trail to the upper viewpoint is steeper and longer. But in return the view of Delicate Arch is much more spectacular than from the lower viewpoint. Especially when you stand near the cliff of the canyon.

Photographers waiting for sunrise at Mesa Arch

Mesa Arch at sunrise is the motif of desire for every photographer, who likes to take pictures of sunrises. As we stayed in Moab we had to get up by 4 am to reach the arch 45 minutes before sunrise. But even then there were already three other guys waiting for the sunrise. Of course they had already set up their tripods… Bad luck for the other five guys who even reached there after us. The panorama was taken approximately five minutes before sunrise.
